Spring Break 2014 (Newport, Kentucky)

Over spring break, our little family took a trip to Newport, Kentucky to see their aquarium.  We knew Audrey liked fish because her sitter, Miss Vicki, said she would watch the fish in her tank when the other kids were napping.  We also knew we were planning a longer trip over summer vacation and had no idea what vacation with a baby was going to be like.  We wanted to try a small trip so we could get some notion as to what would all be involved.  This one was perfect!  Two days, two nights, three hours either way...it was the perfect preparation for Gatlinburg in July.

Trying out the hotel bed...cozy!

Audrey was really into reaching for her feet at this point.

First time swimming!

Her top kept creeping up like this because she was so chubby :)

So Audrey's first time swimming was really interesting.  She hated when either of us would go under water.  She would start squirming when Kyle would dunk his head under as if she was frantic to find him.  Then, when he would pop up, she'd scream!  It was pretty cute, but I felt sorry for Audrey because she was genuinely so worried!  After a few times of this, though, she understood what was going on.

We do have some videos of Audrey watching fish and sharks, but they're pretty dark :(  She loved it, though!  An aquarium trip is definitely a must for small kids.

We also ate at Big Boy's when we were in Newport!  We took this picture because I explained to Kyle that I used to be afraid of the Big Boy when I was little and wouldn't go near him.  I think I've overcome my fears!

It was a fun trip!  We also watched Frozen and Catching Fire, which also both came up shortly before spring break.
